Artexis Easyfairs to manage its 12th exhibition hall in Europe

€ 50 million investment in Gothenburg will be company’s third Swedish confex centre, with adjoining hotel 

Brussels, 26/06/2017: Artexis Easyfairs has confirmed that it will manage a new exhibition and conference centre in Gothenburg, Sweden’s second largest city. This will be the 12th exhibition centre under Artexis Easyfairs management in Europe, with three of them in Sweden. Swedish real estate company Klövern is investing around SEK 500 million (€ 50 million) in the project, which will also include an adjoining 220-room hotel. These new facilities are scheduled to open in January 2019.

Artexis Easyfairs currently operates two exhibition centres in Sweden, Malmömässan (Malmö) and Kistamässan (Stockholm), part of a portfolio of 11 venues in total across Europe. The company also organises 200 trade shows and public exhibitions each year in 18 different countries.

“We are extremely pleased that our new venue in Gothenburg is going ahead. We will now be able to attract more visitors to our flexible exhibition and conference centres serving Sweden’s three largest cities. We are also set to launch between 10 and 15 new exhibitions in Gothenburg in the first year,” commented Artexis Easyfairs CEO and founder Eric Everard.

The new exhibition centre will be located at the Åby race track and will offer 15,000 square metres of indoor space plus access to 20,000 square metres outdoors. Just 10 minutes’ drive south of central Gothenburg and close to all the main approach roads, the exhibition centre will have nearly 2,000 new parking spaces.

“Getting to the new venue and parking will be easy. And with 15,000 square metres of exhibition space, we’ll be able to welcome the majority of Sweden’s exhibitions and conferences to this modern new facility in Gothenburg,” said Peter Wanderydz, Artexis Easyfairs CEO in the Nordic region.
